Google Maps introducing free turn-by-turn directions, soon to come to the iPhone

Free turn-by-turn GPS navigation coming soon to Google Maps

Might suck for companies like TomTom that produce turn-by-turn GPS navigation for iPhones and Androids, but this free offering by Google will darn sure be a bitchin’ feature for most folks.

I just hope that the rumors are true and Google is indeed working with Apple to bring this to iPhone, not like how they rejected the Google Voice application some time back.

Google Wave looks to be the coolest new thing in a while!

Google Wave looks like it could be one of the most profound web apps to come along in some time. From the looks of the intitial developer preview, Google Wave appears to be far more than just an email killer. It seems to me like it will put a big hurtin’ on the likes of Basecamp-type collab apps and will change communication as we know it.

Google has put out a seriously long ass video showing a wicked-cool sneak peek at how Google Wave works… it’s totally worth the time to check out.

For another explanation, a couple of nerdy smart guys at CNN give a pretty darn good description of what exactly Google Wave is and brush on the implications it may have as we chug onward to web 3.0 and beyond.

Now… if they would only send us one of those early invites!

Uhoh, looks like Wordpress 2.9 will be here soon… :)

When this came through my inbox, I was excited to hear about Wordpress 2.9 coming along. In the mean time though, Wordpress 2.8.5 is still in my opinion one of the nicest CMS’s out there. Looks like they’re recommending (as usual) everyone not running the latest 2.8.5 to get updated to the latest. (If you’re not comfortable upgrading yourself, we know a great web design company who excels at upgrading Wordpress )

Revamped our portfolio a wee bit

So we launched this site about a week ago or so, and we still had a few things to wrap up. Today we released an updated version of our portfolio, which utilizes jQuery Lightbox, one of the best lightbox plugins I’ve ever used. Many thanks to Leandro Vieira Pinho!

At this time, we have exactly 104 items in our portfolio, and there are still a few more to add, which are still in development.

Western Prince Whale & Wildlife Cruises

We really enjoyed working with Ivan Reiff of Western Prince Whale & Wildlife Cruises. Ivan was great to work with and was very friendly and open to our ideas and suggestions.

We designed a custom, overall visual wrapper for the site, which he administers personally. Western Prince provides exciting Whale & Wildlife Tours around San Juan Island, Washington (near Seattle). Having provided over 2500 tours, you’re nearly sure to see some orcas!

Apollo Creed Travels

A fun travel guide and adventure site of ours, Apollo Creed Travels brings a twist to the daily experience. We take a plastic action figure of Apollo Creed (from the Rocky movies) and introduce him into an array of fun, adventurous, and, at times, wacky situations. In addition, Apollo enjoys visiting and promoting local businesses; it’s his way of helping develop and maintain our local economy.
